Radiology Continuing Education & Examination Program

In the state of Tennessee, any person who applies x-rays to human beings for diagnostic purposes in a podiatrist’s office in Tennessee must be certified by the Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners.

Each year, TPMA offers a course at its annual conference that includes the required 4 or 6 hours of didactic instruction and administration of the radiology exam. TPMA is recognized under the law to offer the didactic instruction and administer the exam.

Passage of the exam at the TPMA conference does not mean that the individual is certified to perform x-rays. The individual must apply for certification through the TN Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners. The application can be found here.
